I am from Tennessee, but wound up in California after I met my husband. My background is in the medical field. I was an RN for 20 years. I started drawing and painting several years ago and have never looked back.

My main love is Colored Pencil. I really like taking the time to put the layers on (it takes a LOT of layers.) With the technique I use, it looks almost painterly when I am done. I do some watercolor and oil, but Colored Pencil is definitely my preferred medium for portraits.

My Inspiration
I really love doing portraits of people and animals, and I happily take commissions. I do other projects as well, but since I work from photos, I really have to find a photo that inspires me and has the right composition. I have included some work that I did in an art class a few years ago as well. I worked mainly in charcoal for the class.
